Without the context of this story, Amoonguss is such a counterintuitive pokemon to use, since 1) It's a poison-type; 2) One of its core moves is Rage Powder; and 3) It's universally considered to be annoying to play against. It seems like the kind of thing that an anti-trans person would happily agree to have as a trans representative, but it would be because it serves to reinforce negative stereotypes about trans people.

As a trans women playing vgc ranked since I saw wolfe video about his 2022-2023 season, watching the worlds + your video really motivate me to go to IRL tournaments and try to qualify for the worlds. Thanks for your video ❤

Personally... I don't really see a connection between queerness and VGC, I mean you just come as you are and you play the game. I think the game is the main focus, and discrimination in general against people's differences should be frowned upon. So.... being queer-friendly or uniqueness in our differences shouldn't be an issue when the game is the main focus.

Regarding the regis point, there is also the fact that all the regis (Before SwSh, that is), including Regigigas are weak to fighting, which is said to symbolizes the fear of war. However, from what I can find, Regice's cave is not Nagasaki, that is Slateport City. What is next to Slateport City? That's right, the chamber where you unlock the regis in the first place.

Coming from the TCG side of Pokemon, my ultimate goal in life is to be one of the first openly nonbinary people to place Top 10 at Worlds. Pokemon has always been a part of my life, and has been a source of comfort while I was accepting who I am. Seeing the amount of queer competitors in the VGC sphere gives me hope for the TCG. Now all I have to do is get my name changed legally, get used to playing against others in person, and convince my closest LGS to become an official Play Pokemon location. Wish me luck with that! 😅

I've never been a potted can but still any time I look at the films as I'm scrolling Amazon prime and I get this icky feeling hearing the name Harry not even Harry porterhouse the name Harry makes me feel sick and I think that says great lengths that it can have on the trans community. (I am trans btw)
